 Message from the Director
2022! It was the year ChildsLife celebrated its 25th anniversary. A milestone we are quite proud of. Yet, like most people, we had every reason to worry. While still recovering from the consequences of COVID-19 and dealing with the effects of climate change, the world was shocked by the war in Ukraine.
For the countries and communities where ChildsLife is active, all of these factors have led to decreased household income, low productivity and food insecurity. It is the poorest communities—and their women, girls, refugees and displaced persons in particular—that are disproportionally affected.
We are glad to report that despite the many challenges, our organization proved resilient yet again. We continued to do what we do best, reaching out to and supporting the most disadvantaged communities. We provided sustainable solutions in the fight against poverty, food and water insecurity, and inequality. We ensured many children could attend school and rescued another 600 girls from FGM in Kenya. We finalized the construction of a desperately needed clinic for the Maasai and ran summer camps for disabled children in Romania. In times of crises, ChildsLife mobilizes quickly. Hence, we were able to act immediately in the crisis caused by the Ukraine war by setting up a support program for refugees in Romania and Moldova.
All of this is only possible with the help of our committed supporters! Together we were able to improve the well-being and future prospects of thousands of children and their families.
With this report, we are delighted to show you what has been achieved in 2022, thanks to your commitment and trust. We are grateful for your continued support of our cause.
Thank you!
